Companies That Have Dropped Sponsorship In Response To Kaepernick’s Protest

Let’s pay attention to companies that are supporting our players and their decision to stand up for Black Injustices and Black Lives. In return, let’s remember to NEVER do business with these companies that terminate sponsorship for our athletes.

  1. On September 9th, 2016 Denver Broncos Brandon Marshall lost his Partnership with The Air Academy Federal Credit Union. I find it quite comical how the Air Academy Federal Credit Union made this about them when Colin Kaepernick has done an AMAZING job explaining what the issue is. Black people join the Air Academy and on civilian time them and their families are still faced with black injustices white supremacy has put into place. The pledge of allegiance has NOTHING to do with not honoring the military but that’s already been explained no need to keep talking about what is a google search away.
  2. On September 12th, 2016 Denver Broncos Brandon Marshall lost his Partnership with CenturyLink. Does anyone find it interesting that Brandon is the ONLY person to lose sponsorships so far. Not the leader Colin or the ENTIRE Seatle Seahawks team but this ONE individual. Let’s all keep Brandon in our thoughts and prayers as it seems he may be targeted.

On September 12th, 2016 as a result of the news breaking about Brandon Marshall’s second dropped sponsor Russell Simmons states that he will find Brandon and make him an offer. He also presents an ask for another company to seek Brandon out to make up for the lost sponsor he received last week. This will allow him to recoup any losses immediately and present a powerful message. I am excited to see how this plays out. I will be updating this post continuously as news is released to the public.

I ran across you while searching to see if any sponsor has dropped Kaepernick. I’m in SF (about to head to the season opener) and find it fascinating how Marshall lost 2 sponsors and Kaepernick? None? Is it the area of the country? Or aligned sponsor values? Courage? And…can we talk biz? I’d love to have you as part of my upcoming podcast for women in biz…”The Only Woman In The Room”. Yes?
